Women Just Like Me Launches “Bloom Through It” Program to Support
Mental Health for Girls and Young Mothers in Delaware County
Delaware, Ohio — October 17, 2025 — Women Just Like Me, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and girls through trauma-informed education and community-based support, is proud to announce the launch of Bloom Through It, a six-week mental health program designed for teen girls and young mothers in Delaware County. The program is set to begin in October 2025 and will be hosted at CoHatch Delaware. Bloom Through It was initially introduced as a one-day healing event. Due to overwhelming community response and growing mental health needs, it has now evolved into a complete curriculum-based workshop series. The program will be delivered in three cohorts of 20 participants, serving a total of 60 young women from underserved communities. Weekly workshops will cover self-awareness, emotional regulation, relationship building, and suicide prevention, all led by licensed counselors, certified behavioral health specialists, and trauma-informed facilitators. “We created this program to reach girls and mothers who are often overlooked and unheard,” said S. Danielle Dallis-Hairston, Founder and Executive Director. “This is about more than mental health. It’s about healing, visibility, and giving our youth the tools to thrive in environments that weren’t built for their survival.”
Workshops will be held every Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at CoHatch Delaware. Participants will also engage in a healing circle, access wellness resources, receive referrals for counseling if needed, and participate in a field trip designed to foster connection and real-world application of the tools they learn.
This program is made possible through a combination of individual donations, in-kind support through CoHatch’s nonprofit scholarship program, and continued partnership with the ADAMH.
The Board of Franklin County has previously supported Women Just Like Me’s Loving Yourself Teen Suicide Prevention events. Additional funding is being requested through the Delaware County Foundation’s Community Grant initiative.
The public is invited to learn more and support the program at the upcoming Loving Yourself: Suicide Prevention Awareness Event on September 6, 2025, at the Shine Bright Community Center in Whitehall. This event will serve as a platform to raise awareness, connect families to mental health resources, and help fund the Bloom Through It initiative.
